where to invest in emerging markets?
I'd like to place an investment in emerging markets. rather than investing in them directly, i'd feel more confident about an investment in u.s.- or europe-based companies with heavy exposure to the bric economies. any suggestions about mutual funds or etfs that would give me that kind of exposure?

- Every one of BRIC countries has its own ETF's, many of them. Probably best way to go.
- There are 3 ETFs that do just BRIC--EEB, BIK, and BKF. The largest is EEB at about $300 million. The other two are at about $100 million. EEB invests in those that have ADRs--about 75 companies. There are also mutual funds that invest in each of the countries. Brazil--EWZ, BRF, and one that invests in Brazil money market kind of--BZF. China--GXC, PGJ, FXI and some closed end funds and some open end funds including Matthews China fund which has one of the best records. Russia--RSX and closed end funds TRF and CEE. India--FNI (both India and China), EPI, PIN, and INP, and the closed end funds IIF and IFN. There are I am sure many more options available.
- hi there... Since I'm following news and regarding market trends, I think European-Based companies are best for now. I suggest you should be confident and go ahead with the thought.
